Basic Christian Counseling
This course will cover four hours of instruction. The instructor (Dr. Richard Arno) will provide the student with an overview of the “Big Eight” (types of secular counseling/therapeutic methods).
In addition, the student will be taught the difference between Christian and secular counseling, goals, techniques, and several other important topics, such as the dangers and pitfalls of counseling.
Course requirements:
- Approximately 10 clock hours
- Pass an online final exam
Creation Therapy
This course provides an in-depth background of the theory of temperament and provides the historical, scientific and biblical basis for this theory. This course introduces a fifth temperament and the behavioral patterns of each temperament within three behavioral areas: Inclusion, Control and Affection.
It teaches how to apply temperament theory to an actual therapeutic procedure which has been proven to be over 90% successful.in the Creation Therapy course you will learn how to administer the Arno Profile System, an easy-to-use diagnostic tool used by thousands of lay counselors, professional counselors and pastors. The APS measures counselee needs, natural traits, strengths and weaknesses. You will learn:
- What cause relationship conflicts and how to resolve them.
- The secrets of human behavior and how God’s wonderful plan works when understood and applied.
- A very successful five-step method of counseling those who turn to them for help.
Christian Counseling: Integrating Temperament and Psychology
This course is approximately 145 pages in length. In this study, the candidate will be introduced to the definition, theory and practice of biblically based Christian Psychology and counseling and how this relates to NCCA’s counseling model as detailed in the Creation Therapy course:
- Approximately 35 clock hours
- Pass one online exam
