Why did you decide to pursue a degree/licensing in Christian Counseling?
After serving in ministry for over thirty years. I wanted to be certified as a Biblical Christian Counselor and to be a member of the National Christian Counseling Association, so I could better serve my church community.
Why did you select Above & Beyond Counseling Academy as your school?
I’ve been praying to God about some formal education or training in the area of Biblical Counseling. I was led by God to the Above and Beyond Counseling Academy. After going through their Deliverance Boot Camp Training, I found it to be a great place to continue my doctoral degree because the courses were comprehensible and I would be led by Godly and experienced people in the area of counseling.
What was your overall experience with the training?
My overall experience was wonderful because I learned so much from the courses I took and it gave me a good preparation in areas I wanted to learn more about.
Which teachings or aspects of the program did you enjoy the most?
I enjoyed the fact that I could work at my own pace and use the online course work at church to improve my practice with the members I was already working with in the specific area of counseling.
What have you done (or plan to do) with your degree/licensing?
I’m presently supporting my pastor in the area of Pastoral Care and Counseling. I pray that in the near future I will get an opportunity to open a practice to train and work with others in the area of Deliverance and Biblical Counseling.
Any suggestions you would make to potential students who are considering this training?
My suggestion to a potential student would be to get honestly grounded in the Word of God and allow the Holy Spirit to truly direct you in your work with His people. I found myself reading the Bible more and wanting to really understand the important implication of His Word for my life so that I could be the best vessel I could be for the Lord.
