Why did you decide to pursue a Bachelors degree/licensing in Christian Counseling?
I had a calling on my heart to help people.
Why did you select Above & Beyond Counseling Academy as your school?
I felt the school’s mission statement represented my own beliefs. I also liked the self paced aspect of the program.
What was your overall experience with the training?
Overall it was good. I would have liked a few more group discussions however my supervisor was always responsive and I look forward to completing my masters program in the future.
Which teachings or aspects of the program did you enjoy the most?
I loved learning about Temperament Therapy and the use of the APS report.
What have you done (or plan to do) with your degree/licensing?
I am allowing the Holy Spirit to guide me. I feel I have a lot to offer in marriage and family and would like to teach Temperament Therapy. I am connected with a church and will start to counsel those who need my services. I also have leadership skills that I would like to use and hope to open my own Christian Counseling center in the future.
Other comments/suggestions?
My suggestion to people considering the program is they need to be thinking about access to people who are willing to complete the APS questionnaires and follow up with a session. I completed 25 and now need to complete another 25 for my masters. Hence the challenge.
I believe the faculty at Above and Beyond Counseling are true to their name. They were professional and go to great lengths to assist you with reaching your goals.
